Reading Force Updates

The FREE Reading Force initiative is available to those serving, reservist, veteran, injured – as well as the divorced/separated partners and children of Forces personnel. As we deliver books and scrapbooks directly to the homes of families who request them, we have been able to give military families a constructive activity throughout lockdown. As restrictions ease, you can still use our materials to keep in touch with a deployed parent and wider family.

Reading Force is available to all Forces families, whether children are staying at home or returning to school. Anyone with a Forces connection can register to join our fun shared-reading scheme - just click HERE for more details and see the below information for the latest updates.

A questionnaire for teenagers
Reading Force is developing a version for teenagers. They have established a questionnaire, and this has just been given ethics approval by Kingston University (where the RF Director is Professor of Publishing). Do please pass on this link to any teenagers you know of and ask them to take part. The questionnaire does explain the project and provides pictures of Reading Force's existing materials, to jog the memory. A link to the questionnaire can be found HERE

Teaching teachers about Forces children
For those of you with Forces children, or perhaps who were Forces children yourselves, this initiative described HERE may be particularly interesting.

New initiative: Reading Force Research Associate Scheme
This arose from a posse of students who had been Reading Force children – and still wanted to remain involved. We see this as a way of developing individuals, and particularly young people, who want to get involved, and offering mentoring and support in return. The experience will hopefully develop them and give them material for their CV. If you would like to suggest that a young person is part of this, do please pass on the invitation. Click HERE to read further details about this opportunity (if you are using a MODnet device and are unable to view this link, please email colernehive@armymail.moduk and a copy can be emailed to you directly) Reading Force contact details can be found at the link at the top of this post.
