Rest & Recuperation (R&R) Policy During COVID19

Due to COVID19 travel restrictions and force protection concerns, R&R is not currently being granted and this is likely to go on for some time.

Some personnel will have already missed out on their opportunity to take R&R and others are likely to continue to do so until restrictions are lifted and R&R is reinstated.

Whilst R&R is not an entitlement, a temporary policy amendment has been made to ensure that Service personnel who have been unable to take R&R as a result of COVID19 are awarded 5 days Authorised Absence in lieu of each period of missed R&R.  This should be added to their JPA record by unit admin staff following command approval.
