Wiltshire Police Advice Regarding Daytime Running Lights

Wiltshire Police are reminding drivers to be vigilant when using Daytime Running Lights (DRL) on their vehicles.

Officers from their Roads Policing Unit have noticed a number of vehicles being driven with daytime running lights on during reduced visibility and drivers have been unaware that these lights do not illuminate your rear position lights.

Please do not rely on these and always ensure you switch the most appropriate lights on for the lighting, weather conditions and visibility.

When visibility is reduced, having your rear lights on warns other road users of your position.

Drivers will potentially run the risk of a fine should they use their lights incorrectly.

Be safe, be seen. Think lights.
